This film offers a walk through a century of Swiss History in the footsteps of those who fought to get out of their kitchen - and those who have tried everything to put them back in - until equal rights were obtained, which reality sometimes seems still fragile.

VOL SPECIAL (SPECIAL FLIGHT)

Awaiting definite deportment from the Swiss territory, rejected asylum seekers and illegal migrants are jailed at the administrative detention centre Frambois. Behind the closed prison doors, tension builds day by day. On one side there are wardens full of humanist values, on the other there are men defeated by fear and stress. Relations of friendship and hate, respect and revolt are formed until the announcement of the deportment, which is experienced like a stab. Those who refuse to leave are handcuffed, tied up and forcibly put in a plane. In this extreme situation, despair has a name: special flight.

Climage is the European distributor for the exceptional films of NELSON SULLIVAN. He filmed the New York gay and transvestite scene in the 1980s. His style was very distinctive: he filmed everything around him...it was almost as if his camera were an extension of his arm! One of the intriguing things about his work is that he did not edit any of his footage at all.
